Our Roots - A Personal Journey of Paying It Forward
Medforall was born from a deep personal connection to the disability community—and a belief that technology should serve people first. Founded in 2015, Medforall grew out of real-world experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with a mission to build tools that make independence and safety more achievable.
From the start, we've collaborated with OSU departments like Biomedical Engineering (BME), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), and Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), mentoring students and supporting early research focused on vulnerable populations. Since the beginning, we've championed responsible innovation—balancing progress with safety, trust, and lived experience.
Through our partnerships with providers, families, and researchers, we continue designing solutions that prioritize dignity, reduce caregiver stress, and make care more human. For us, this isn't just technology—it's a way to build meaningful change, one connection at a time.
